Spring into Action

This last year has taught us a lot - it's shone a light on what's really important and shown the power of collective change, kindness and support. As restrictions are lifting, buds are blooming and parks are filling, we want to continue this spirit of coming together and taking action.

Whether it’s sharing more with neighbours, helping out your local community fridge, supporting local wildlife or getting growing – now’s the time to spring into action and make our local areas cleaner, greener and healthier. Let’s plant, cook, make and take action together, as friends, families and communities.

Dig in below to get involved in community-led projects and discover lots of sustainable tips, recipes and our community action guide. Feeling creative? Enter our community photography competition.

If you happen to be based in Manchester, we've got just the campaign for you! In Our Nature is a city-wide programme helping residents respond to climate change with everything from cleaning and greening our area, to launching community fridges, and sharing local skills to help us save money, live healthier, and reduce our impact on the environment.

  • Volunteer

A new pirate-themed litter campaign has set sail! Did you know 80% of the litter in the sea flows out from river systems? Treasure Your River is preventing and capturing river litter across the UK, with lots of events such as pirate loot grabbing (litter picking). Are you ready to come aboard and help protect our seas?
