All details and/or information given in applications must be truthful, accurate, honestly held and in no way misleading. Hubbub and the Daily Mirror reserve the right to disqualify an entry if they believe (in their sole discretion) that untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information has been supplied, or if the entry is in breach of these terms and conditions. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into. Competition – final stage Hubbub and the Daily Mirror , together with an independent judge, will select a shortlist of four finalists, based on the entries (set out in the application forms) that they believe showcase locations that will benefit most from plastic fishing and which have the best potential to promote and further the aims of the Plastic Fishing Tour. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. A shortlist of four finalists will be chosen by the judging panel to take part in a final stage based on strength of meeting entry requirements by 28th February 2019. All finalists will be notified by phone or email. This must be acknowledged by the finalist, by direct message, within 72 hours. Failure to respond to this means an alternative finalist will be selected from all valid entries received. In the competition’s final stage, the four finalists will each receive the plastic fishing boat for a period of one week during the month of April or May 2019 to help them demonstrate their eligibility for winning the competition. During the week they have with the boat, finalists will take the boat ‘plastic fishing’ in their local area and record elements of their trip to help form the basis of their final entry, which will include filming their boat trip on location and submitting video to Hubbub, which may be used by Hubbub in promotional materials as it sees fit whether or not such entry is successful. The entrant will ensure that it has the consent of any individual featured in the video. To fulfil the final stage in April/May 2019, each finalist must have arranged with Hubbub a suitable location to house the boat and have arrangements in place to take the boat to local waterways. Failure to demonstrate a suitable location to house the boat and the means to take the boat to local waterways will mean an alternative finalist is selected. In the event that any loss, damage or impairment occurs to the plastic fishing boat as a result of negligence or use for any purpose other than that for which it is intended by a finalist that results in it needing repairs or ceasing to be used the finalist will be expected to pay Hubbub and the Daily Mirror the cost of repair or replacement. In May 2019, each finalist will enter a further submission demonstrating their suitability to win the competition. Entry material can use existing copy from the first competition round and be supplemented with evidence gathered during the final stage and their time with the plastic fishing boat. All finalists’ entries must be made via email to Hubbub. The full details will be provided to the finalists. The winner will be announced in June 2019. This must be acknowledged by the winner, by direct message, within 72 hours. Failure to respond to this means an alternative winner will be selected from the finalists. Prize All entrants will have the chance to win a boat made of recycled plastic, to be used by them and their local community to run an initiative to clean up local waterways polluted with plastic. The winner will be notified by phone and email in June. The boat will be delivered to the winner to a mutually agreed upon waterway location on the British mainland by 31 July 2019. The winner must have worked with Hubbub to arrange a suitable location to house the boat by the end of 31st May. Failure to demonstrate a suitable location by this time may result in another finalist being chosen as the winner. Further contractual terms and T&Cs may apply to the shortlisted finalists, in relation to how the boat may be used, how to complete the additional application form and other matters related to the second stage of this competition, and these shall be advised when the shortlisted entrants are contacted . The promoter’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
