What's your main area of work at Hubbub?

I manage everything related to our partnership with Starbucks, from projects funded by the 5p cup charge to employee engagement. We’ve been focusing our effort on waste reduction and recycling but coming up we are looking to expand the scope of projects into food and community.

What's your favourite campaign and why?

If I must choose one...I like Community Cycle Hub because it deals with the interconnectedness of socioeconomic, cultural, gender and environmental issues. It’s as simple as helping Muslim women take up cycling, which is a great way for them to exercise, explore the city, develop greater autonomy, save transportation cost and of course, it is also a low-carbon way to commute. At Hubbub we do campaigns that benefit both the people and the planet. Cycle Hub is a brilliant example of our approach.

What did life before Hubbub look like?

Before Hubbub I worked for Futbol Club Barcelona on sponsorship. In the past 3 years I asked myself repeatedly what my values and life purposes were, and came to the conclusion that I couldn’t settle for a stable job and take environmentalism as a hobby. Some people widened their eyes in disbelief when they heard I gave up sunny coastal life in Barcelona and moved to London. But I know nothing is better than waking up every day and feeling there's something I can do to bring changes for the better.

What else are you passionate about?

Reading. I’m not a fast reader but enjoy burying myself in a great novel. Taking photos—it reminds me to stay curious and attentive to the extraordinary things in the day-to-day. Arguments about climate action/inaction! A superb yoga class that’s equally challenging for the mind and body. And learning contemporary dance, something I’d love to pick up again.

What would you eat if you only had one meal left?

I guess it’s more about with whom I’d have this meal! On that note, definitely it’s my mum’s crunchy stir-fried broccoli and steamed fish.

Who’s your Eco crush?

Too many. AOC, for her audacity and popularising the idea of Green New Deal. Michael Pollan—The Omnivore’s Dilemma changed my diet. Noam Chomsky, for speaking plain truths. And everyone participated in Extinction Rebellion’s actions—they demonstrate the level of urgency and action we ought to give to climate change.
