Rhiannon Ashley Creative Partner What's your main area of work at Hubbub? I mainly work across our neighbourhoods campaigns, so far I’ve led Love Where You Live, Love Your Forest and For Fish’s Sake. I’ve also edited several of Hubbub’s videos – I love getting involved in the creative side of things as well as project management! What's your favourite campaign and why? Plastic Fishing. I love the circular story of making something valuable out of waste and then using it to clear up more marine pollution. The first boat was launched after I’d been at Hubbub only a couple of months and riding round Canary Wharf on the Poly Mer was a magical experience I’ll never forget. What did life before Hubbub look like? I grew up in pioneering ‘Transition Town’ Totnes with environmental values engrained, but always saw my future in the arts. So I studied Media & Communications at the University of Greenwich, where I got very involved in student activism and it was then I decided I wanted a creative job in the charity sector. After a couple of temp roles and a short stint volunteering in Greece, I found my dream job at Hubbub, and the rest is history! What else are you passionate about? I’m really passionate about feminism (and all other liberation groups). I’m into creative projects of all kinds - videos, painting, drawing, decorating, upcycling… Oh, and I LOVE crazy golf. What would you eat if you only had one meal left? All the tofu from any Thai restaurant. Who’s your Eco crush? Caroline Lucas. She’s a babe.
