Rebecca Wetten Senior Commercial Lead What's your main area of work at Hubbub? My role is to take the best ideas from the charity (or come up with my own wacky ideas) and scale them or launch them in a way that generates revenue for the charity and increases the impact of what we can do. I’m currently working on the Ballot Bin, the world's first voting ashtray, and Plastic Fishing, trips on the world’s first plastic recycled boat to collect litter from our waterways. I also recently launched our Climate Comms Kit, which helps local governments respond to the climate emergency. What did life before Hubbub look like? Before Hubbub I worked for Swedish-born app Karma, where I was trying to solve that little issue, food waste. I launched the Karma app across London in early 2018 and we helped to save tens of thousands of tonnes of fresh consumable food from being sent to landfill. Before that I worked in publishing, publishing reports in The Times and The Sunday Times on a whole range of themes from virtual reality through to ethical e-commerce. What else are you passionate about? Outside of work I really enjoy wild swimming and running around mountains. I love a good gig. Staring at bonfires. I've done some volunteering schemes that got me really pumped, from rainforest conservation to providing safe spaces for refugee women. I have this unrealised passion where I plan to build my own electric food truck that serves burrizzas, which is a cross between a burrito & a pizza. What would you eat if you only had one meal left? It would have to be a spicy burrizza. Who’s your Eco crush? Jane Goodall is a good egg.
