Project Co-ordinator

What's your main area of work at Hubbub?

As a project co-ordinator, I'm able to bounce around quite a few of the important areas Hubbub works in. So I've been involved in campaigns ranging from recycling to energy efficiency to food waste. Right now, I'm working on two things that are very important to my heart (and very damaging to my wallet): food and fashion.

What's your favourite campaign and why?

The impact of the Community Fridges is immense. What started off as a single trial in Derby has exploded into a national network that has been featured in the UK's first ever live TV advert and has even been praised in Scottish Parliament. For me, the project epitomises the secret ingredient of Hubbub: the power of stories. The story of community food redistribution has inspired people across the country and beyond to get involved: by either donating food or even starting their own Community Fridge! In an increasingly bleak world, stories like these are the catalyst for true change.

What did life before Hubbub look like?

Pre-Hubbub, my days were spent arranging budgets and reports at a sustainable energy non-profit based in (of all places), Canary Wharf. Pre-pre-Hubbub, I was juggling my Biology BSc and Environmental Technology MSc at Imperial College London with far too many student societies.

What else are you passionate about?

Like any man with piercings and a pair of doc martens, I love pretentious cinema and oversized second-hand clothes.

What would you eat if you only had one meal left?

My mum's dumplings. Given how easily I can eat a dangerous amount of them, I wouldn't be surprised if they did actually end up being my last meal.

Who’s your Eco crush?

The Green (Party) Queens: Caroline Lucas, Sian Berry and Natalie Bennet.
