Kirstie Brittain Project co-ordinator What's your main area of work at Hubbub? I started life at Hubbub as an intern, largely supporting on our fashion work. Since then I've spread into a variety of other project areas too, from our Why Wing It campaign promoting the wonders of a UK staycation, to our Community Calling smartphone donation scheme. I've dipped my toes into a variety of areas so far! What's your favourite campaign and why? Pumpkin Rescue. I shared the campaign on social media before I'd ever heard of Hubbub, let alone thought about applying to work here! It's fun, engaging and timeless. What did life before Hubbub look like? Lots of studying and a bit of modelling. I did my BSc at LSE in History and International Relations which I absolutely loved. I'd been in the modelling industry on and off since I was 12, so I took it back up after uni to pay off some debt, before ending up back up university the next year. I decided to enroll at UCL in an MSc on Environment, Politics and Society after becoming increasingly obsessed with the environment. Then the panicked job-hunt that comes towards the end of a Masters landed me at Hubbub! What else are you passionate about? Beautiful architecture, sustainable urbanism and green and accessible built environments. Learning and academia, especially international history. Finding cosy cafes that make me wish I was a student again. Dogs, especially rescue dogs. Cows. And pigs!!!! What would you eat if you only had one meal left? A mountain of vegetarian dumplings. Hula Hoops as a dessert. Who’s your Eco crush? Sylvia Earle.
