What's your main area of work at Hubbub?

Currently recycling and cycling - two very different topics but very similar sounding names.

What's your favourite campaign and why?

Plastic Fishing stands out to me because it brings to life one of my favourite quotes by David Attenborough, “No one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced”. Modern life makes it easy for us to be disconnected from the the hidden realities of where things come from and where things end up. Plastic Fishing makes the issue more visible but does in a fun, playful way.

What did life before Hubbub look like?

I studied Geography at the University of Exeter and worked for the charity British Exploring Society in a variety of roles including recruiting young people and leaders for expeditions, as well as organising parts of them too. I got to work on the first expedition for disabled and non-disabled participants with the Jubilee Sailing Trust and spent six weeks in the Peruvian Amazon as an Assistant Leader. It was always going to be a tough job to top but Hubbub has managed it!

What else are you passionate about?

Spending time in the outdoors, whether it’s walking, running or cycling. I’d love to do another big expedition or extended slow travel trip at some point. I also love a good book or podcast.

What would you eat if you only had one meal left?

If I’m allowed a weird combo it would be hummus, aubergine parmigiana and fish & chips. If it had to be one thing, hummus.

Who’s your Eco crush?

George Monbiot.
